This is Rich

It is a little hard to tell from this picture, but the metal leaf (gold, copper) is suspended in the resin. It is three dimensional and has much more color than comes through here. I am pretty happy with it. I think I will try to find a gold bail to attach and I will probably put it on an omega wire necklace.

I heart you

I decided to make a chunky pendant today using a method I have been wanting to use for a while.

These Earrings are HOT

Well, maybe not literally but I am in love with the fiery colors in the Swarovski Crystals. They go from red to orange to yellow. The combination with the antiqued copper earrings seems to add to the warm effect.

Creation a Day - My Project for the New Year

Over the last few years, I have been quite inspired by the dedication that some fellow artists/bloggers have had to 365 day experiments. In particular, an artist I do not know personally, Duane Keiser in his Painting A Day Project http://duanekeiser.blogspot.com/ which continues on as less regular but none the less breathtaking fashion and one I am happy to call a friend, the talented photog April Chandler http://www.aprildotphotography.com/. In the last few years, such projects have become pretty common but I don't feel like it has become cliche or tiring. When I follow such projects, I see each person hone their skills and grow with their experience. I also see them branch out and try new techniques and risks others with less dedication might not.

Taking these as inspiration as well as the birth of 2009, I start Creation a Day. Call it ADD, but I have so many ideas and things I would like to try whether it is jewelry design, painting, crafting or sculpting, I intend to create something by my hand each day.
Wish me luck!

Day 1: Turquoise polymer clay, gold leafed and sealed.
